NEW DELHI: A cafe in St Albans, Hertfordshire, has garnered considerable attention after displaying a signal that read:” Dog Friendly, Child free”.
The Lower Red Lion, located on Fishpool Street, England has maintained this policy for around 11 times, according to the tenant, David Worcester as told to a BBC reporter.
The flag’s pictures, shared on X, has been viewed by an estimated 75 million individuals, sparking a heated conversation on the social media platform. While some people expressed their criticism, questioning the interpersonal acceptability of “literally hating children”, people defended the restaurant’s position. According to Worcester, the majority of the comments were made in the US.
Families complained about the unclearness of the child-free plan before entering the cafe, so they made the decision to place the sign outside. England stated that he wanted to make his clients feel at ease. It only takes one kid to push off, he said,” I just want to create an environment where my clients is sit and relax.” That spoils the experience for everyone.
Despite receiving accusations of hating children due to the viral photo, Worcester clarified,” I have no objection to children in any other pub, ever, I just do n’t want them in mine”.
One client even traveled by train from Worcester to explore the Lower Red Lion as a result of the publicity generated by the popular post. Worcester thanked the ferocious backing from the neighborhood and his ordinary customers.
