Trump: In light of the Hamas problems in October, Netanyahu has received “rightfully been criticized” | The Hill

The criticism of Israel’s occupation of Hamas in Gaza by former president Donald Trump has sparked concerns about how much a gap with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would affect U.S. policy toward Israel in a possible, following Trump presidency.
In a new interview, former president Trump scathingly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the attacks that killed more than 1, 000 Israelis in October, but he did n’t directly demand his ouster.
Trump spoke to Time magazine in depth about his potential next term plans, including how he would handle relations with Israel in the wake of Hamas’s conflict. The previous president criticized Netanyahu and claimed the problems” should have never happened.”
Asked if he would be able to work better with Netanyahu’s political rival, Benny Gantz, Trump said he was” hardly prepared to say that”.
” I have n’t spoken to him about it. However, you have some very kind citizens in Israel who are capable of doing a great job, Trump said.
” And I will say this: Bibi Netanyahu rightly has been criticized for what took place on Oct. 7″, Trump added.
Israel has received criticism from across the globe, including from Democrats in the United States, for the humanitarian crises in Gaza and the number of deaths from civilians and support staff. President Obama’s White House has both called on Israel to do more to protect citizens and aid workers and suggested that the administration had state potential military help if it is subject to specific changes. It has also defended Israel’s right to respond to Hamas.
Trump, the likely Republican nominee for president, has provided few details about how he would deal with the Israel-Hamas conflict if he were in charge of the White House.
Instead, he’s asserted repeatedly that the war would have never started if he were president. He has also urged Israel to end the conflict and expressed concern about Gaza’s images of buildings falling, which he claims are letting Israel lose the public relations battle.
Trump has highlighted his first administration’s support for Israel, though he has also , attacked Jewish Americans , who vote for Democrats or do not support Israel, suggesting they hate their own religion.
Trump questioned the possibility of a two-state solution between the Israelis and the Palestinians following the conclusion of the conflict in his interview with Time, which was conducted earlier this month.
” There was a time when I believed that two states could work. Now I think two states is going to be very, very tough”, Trump said. I believe it will be much harder to obtain. You may have had fewer supporters of the idea, in my opinion. Four years ago, you had a large number of people who liked the idea. Today, you have far fewer people that like that idea”.
