Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Tuesday that Israel would reject any attempt by the International Criminal Court ( ICC ) to indict Israeli officials for the war in Gaza and that Hamas would remain unpunished regardless.
Netanyahu was speaking after the Jewish holiday of Easter, addressing information that the ICC intended to prosecute him and other officers for allegedly committing “war offences” in assisting Israel in battling Hamas jihadists in Gaza.
The prime minister further stated that Israel may continue to work to “destroy” Hamas ‘ “military and governing features.”
The Prime Minister’s Office released his statement’s complete text and picture:

You must consider this to feel this. The Hague’s International Criminal Court is considering issuing arrest warrants against senior Israeli government and military officers as war offenders.  ,
This would be an indignation of legendary proportions.
In the midst of the Holocaust committed against the Hebrew persons, international organizations like the ICC emerged. They were set up to prevent such atrocities, to avoid future genocides.  ,
Yet the International Court is currently attempting to place Israel in the courtroom. It’s trying to put us in the dark as we fight murderous terrorists and dictatorships that, of course, aim to destroy the one and only Israeli state.  ,
Branding Israel’s rulers and troops as war criminals may pour jet fuel on the hatred that is already roiling on American campuses and across global capitals.
Additionally, this will be the first time a democratic nation that is battling for its existence according to the laws of war is accused of combat crimes.
The Jewish troops, the IDF, is one of the most spiritual forces in the world.  ,
It takes infinite measures to prevent civilian deaths, actions that no other army takes.  ,
It does so while battling a criminal foe that uses its own citizens as human shields.  ,  ,  ,
You know the truth. Hamas places its weapons, its jihadists in hospitals, schools, temples and throughout human areas. They do this in order to increase civilian casualties and earn resistance.  ,
Israel is facilitating a wave of humanitarian aid to Gaza while Hamas shows no concern for the life of Palestinians and robs support from residents. And we do this to make sure the humanitarian requirements of the Israeli population are met.  ,
Who is the ICC targeting instead of praising Israel for sticking to the rules of war while opposing an enemy that disobeys every principle of battle, including holding 133 Jewish men, women, and children hostage? The republic called Israel.
The ICC would also be aiming its sights at all democracies because it would undermine their fundamental right to defend themselves from brutal violence and malicious anger.  ,
The ICC’s danger, by definition, is not intended to impose the rules.  ,
Israel’s impartial legal system thoroughly investigates all violations of the law, and it is not even content to the court’s jurisdiction.  ,
Instead, this ICC try is an attempt to freeze Israel’s extremely ability to defend itself.  ,
This enormous threat to our security is rejected outright by the state and the Israeli individuals. This grave danger to our very life.  ,
And I want to ensure you that no ICC ruling will have an impact on Israel’s iron-clad resolve to pursue the objectives of our conflict with Hamas terrorists: we did end Gaza’s military and governing apparatus, we will transfer all of our hostages, and we will ensure that Israel not becomes a threat to Israel once more.  ,
Israel anticipates that the rulers of the free world will remain steady against the ridiculous abuse on Israel’s fundamental right to self-defense by the ICC. We anticipate that they will use every means at their disposal to put an end to this risky course.
The Jewish state appeals to good people outside to accept this outrage by the ICC, to walk with Israel as we fight the warriors of Hamas and Iran, and to work toward a more peaceful world as we work to secure a more peaceful world. Six weeks after the awful Hamas murder of October 7, 80 years after the horrors of the Holocaust.
Although the Biden administration has been quiet about its opposition to the ICC indicting Israeli officials, it could set off a precedent that could see American soldiers face charges for actions taken abroad against Islamic terrorists.
Netanyahu promised that Israel would invade Rafah, the final Hamas stronghold, regardless of whether there was a hostage deal with the terrorists, earlier on Tuesday when he met with the families of the victims of the terror attack from October 7 at the Hamas.
