A Wednesday reading from Dr. Anthony Fauci’s connection to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China sought to clear up “discrepancies” from past sealed- door testimony.
As Peter Daszak, the leader of EcoHealth Alliance Inc., accepted an invitation to once more respond to questions, the parliamentary investigation on COVID continued on Capitol Hill. Democratic members of the body’s recommendation to” crimes investigated” was made clear during that inquisitor from the House Select Subcommittee on the Ebola Pandemic.
Breaking down points that had been established in a 60- site statement released earlier in the day, committee seat Ohio Rep. Brad Wenstrup ( R ) asserted during his opening remarks, “EcoHealth was completely conducting gain- of- function research, especially in Wuhan” and “EcoHealth’s actions themselves are a threat to national security”.
Chairman Wenstrup opens today’s reading with EcoHealth Alliance President Dr. Peter Daszak by breaking down @COVIDSelect’s fresh report:

House Democrats, including California Rep. Raul Ruiz, a ranking member of the committee, argued that the document did n’t support the possibility of COVID-19, but that it did raise questions about Daszak’s reportedly contradictory assertions.
The report recommended Daszak become fully debarred and unlawfully investigated as a result of his actions due to and during the COVID- 19 pandemic and recommended that his responses to questions from his testimony from November’s testimony included” significant, systemic weaknesses at the National Institutes of Health ( NIH) that enabled EcoHealth to fund harmful gain- of- function research in Wuhan, China.

EcoHealth Alliance President Dr. Peter Daszak should be formally debarred and criminally investigated as a result of his actions both prior to and during the COVID- 19 pandemic, according to a staff-level report released today.

According to the report, EcoHealth had used taxpayer money to fund gain-of-function research at the WIV and was violating NIH grants by failing to disclose the risks of the institute’s experiments.
Of course, the NIAID had been given another NIH grant for five years of “high-risk virus discovery in bats” in Asia in 2022 even after scrutiny had been placed on EcoHealth, Daszak, and their connections to Fauci as then-director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
The report, which claimed the president had “omitted a material fact and misled the NIH about the location of untested samples, raised the contention that the president had sought grant reinstatement.
The GOP members of the select subcommittee had written to Daszak prior to his Wednesday appearance before Congress about the “lightly put” discrepancies in his previous testimony.
These revelations undermine both your credibility and any supporting characterizations you made in your transcripted interview. The Committees have a right and an obligation to guard the truth of their investigations, including the accuracy of the testimony given during a recorded interview. We invite you to correct the record,” they wrote.
After being questioning, a heated exchange with Virginia Rep. Morgan Griffith ( R ) led the congressman to claim that Daszak had changed his position regarding the possibility of bat coronavirus spillovers into humans, either as a result of pressure from Fauci or NIAID or because of concerns over responsibility for EcoHealth, and that he had not been told the truth.
There are significant discrepancies between the testimony from EcoHealth Alliance President Dr. Peter Daszak and the evidence that @COVIDSelect has discovered.
Today, @RepMGriffith confronted Dr. Daszak:” You did n’t tell me the truth.”

Throughout the hearing, Daszak maintained EcoHealth had not done gain- of- function research.
Democratic members of the subcommittee expressed their own interest in the hearing in the manner of not letting a crisis go unfulfilled while a thorough explanation of EcoHealth’s relationship with WIV were sought.
A Democratic spokesperson claimed in a statement to Fox News Digital that they “undermined the need to pursue and prioritize forward-looking reforms that improve biosafety standards in the United States and around the world so that we can reduce the threat of future outbreaks and prevent future pandemics.”
The spokesperson added,” In the Select Subcommittee’s investigation of federally funded research, testimony, and document reviewed by Select Subcommittee Democrats raise serious concerns that EcoHealth Alliance disregarded federal reporting requirements that ensure grantees are accountable to the American people.”
The report left many people wondering if there would be accountability after Daszak’s feet were held to the fire, as with other congressional investigations.
Will we finally see some accountability?
