In response to the new Democrat request to remove former president Donald Trump’s protection from the Secret Service, Texas Republican Congressman Wesley Hunt is introducing legislation to completely guarantee former U.S. leaders ‘ safety, ensuring it remains unaffected by personal or political prejudices, should he be found guilty of a felony and imprisoned.
The Save American Former Elected Presidents Act ( SAFE Presidents ), to be presented this week, seeks to guarantee lifelong Secret Service protection for all U. S. presidents, making it irrevocable and immune to termination due to “animosity” or “political disagreement”, thereby ensuring the safety of former presidents as intended by law.

The new bill, which was entirely reviewed by Breitbart News, urges the Secret Service to “protect former President until their deaths” and states that “laws may not be applied separately to condemn political critics as is is done in third-world countries.
The introduction of H. R. 8081, the DISGRACED Former Protectees Act, a measure clearly intended to strip former President Trump of protection if he is found guilty of a felony and sentenced to prison, is a step in the direction of Democrat Congressman Bennie Thompson (D-MS ). Hunt’s act mitigates this act, keeping Secret Service protection for the duration of a former president’s life, when originally envisioned.
Congressman @BennieGThompson introduced legislation to make sure that felons who have been convicted of crimes against humanity who have been sentenced to prison have no protection from the Secret Service.

In an exclusive statement to Breitbart News on Wednesday, Hunt noted that Trump is a former president, the Republican nominee for president, as well as” the likely 47th President of the United States” . ,  ,

Trump is now facing “unprecedented criminal investigations and coordinated political persecutions,” he said, and he also has the “prospect of losing his Secret Service protection in the middle of a presidential campaign.”
Turning to Thompson’s bill, Hunt argued that it intentionally places lives at risk.  ,  ,
Hunt remarked that Thompson’s bill is” just the latest attempt at lawfare to stop Trump from being democratically elected to the White House. This is a remarkably brazen move to endanger the life of a former president and future leader of the free world.”

Hunt bragged that his bill, which shields former and incoming presidents from legal action, “upholds the values of our country”.
,” The United States should not be operating like a third- world nation”, he said. The SAFE Presidents Act provides Secret Service protection for all presidents up to death, as is intended by law. Punishing political opponents with lawfare is not in line with the values of our country.
The controversy comes as New York County Judge Juan Merchan declared that former president Trump had violated a gag order while on trial, holding him in criminal contempt and threatening to put him in jail if he violated it further.

In the criminal case involving alleged election interference and a legal retainer paid to Michael Cohen, Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Trump with 34 felonies last year. Trump could face jail time if found guilty, and the trial is the first of its kind to date.
Trump now faces four indictments across different jurisdictions, totaling 91 counts, potentially resulting in significant penalties.
According to a CNN poll released on Friday, the majority of Americans doubt a fair outcome of Trump’s criminal trial, with more and more people claiming that it is unrelated to his chances of winning.
In addition, a majority of voters agree , Democrats are using the legal system to take out their political opponents — namely Trump, an Harvard- Harris survey found in April.
