Tesla’s new firing of its entire paying staff, according to reports, has previously resisted plans to expand the Supercharger system. Vehicle owners now have trouble finding reliable charging stations, especially when traveling frequently, and these issues are n’t likely to be resolved anytime soon.
According to Electrek, Tesla has decided to return on its plans to expand the Supercharger community, one of the company’s most important property, in a shift that has confused many in the electric vehicle industry. Following CEO Elon Musk’s contentious decision to fire the whole team overseeing the company’s charging infrastructure, this decision comes at a controversial time.

According to reports, Tesla has previously backed out of four contracts for upcoming Supercharger spots in New York City, including locations in Maspeth, South Bronx, Queens, and Gateway Center in Brooklyn. These new Supercharger stations were just announced to address the issue of crowded city parking lots that had sat in long lines for Tesla masters and ride-sharing drivers.
Given the growing need for a solid charging infrastructure, the backtracking on these plans is particularly troubling. By the end of the year, Tesla had formerly promised to deploy 100 additional chargers throughout New York City, and it had also worked with Uber to assemble the data to compile the data.
The overall effect of Tesla’s choice on the rise of the Supercharger community is still uncertain, though some of the vacated sites may be taken over by different charging operators like Revel, who expressed attention in the locations.
One of Tesla’s important strengths is Tesla’s Supercharger network, which provides security for Tesla entrepreneurs while traveling long distances. The company had recently won the battle for charging standards, with the adoption of the North American Charging Standard ( NACS) and the Supercharger network becoming the standard method of charging non-Telia electric vehicles.
However, with the fire of the charging staff and the visible slowdown or halt of Supercharger installations, Tesla’s charging advantage may be eroded, probably impacting the company’s competitiveness in the electronic vehicle market.
