This year, a bright man shot four black law enforcement officers, wounding four, in an effort to detain him for breaking “gun control” rules. Where are all the reports about” white power” and “assault arms restrictions”?
Wait, not mind. All four victims are white, and the assume is dark. Nothing to see here, after all!
It’s fascinating how that works. Just shy of four years ago, a chaotic fentanyl addiction died of a heart attack in prison after a police officer attempted to fight him under command. Our national information media and Democrats in common called for a “racial reckoning.” We have n’t stopped hearing about it since. However, Terry Clark Hughes Jr., 39, reportedly greeted authorities by pouring rounds of bullets on them using his weapons from the second story of a bland residential apartment when he was being sought by an officer on a warrant for unlawful firearm ownership and avoiding arrest.
Hughes was killed in the shootout, but so were officers Sam Poloche, Alden Elliot, Joshua Eyer, and Thomas Weeks. Did I mention that they were merely attempting to apprehend Hughes for possessing a gun without permission, which the media has promised to do to ensure the safety of every American man, woman, and child?
Without being too blunt here: It’s because Hughes is BLACK.
Not even a month ago, the media claimed that a 26-year-old man fired shots at police from his SUV, casting the question of Floyd 2.0 on us. When Dexter Reed allegedly pulled the trigger, police demanded that he open his window and was pulled over for a traffic violation, but the officer received a barrage of bullets in return, which hit him 13 times overall.
But hey, none of the police involved were killed, so no biggie! The real issue is Reed himself’s passing because he is BLACK.
Washington Post:” Police fire 96 shots in 41 seconds, killing Black man during traffic stop”.
The family of Dexter Reed, a 26-year-old Black man who was killed by a hail of bullets fired by police during a traffic stop, is on CNN.
Associated Press:” Video shows the 26-year-old Black man briefly lowering a window and then raising it before refusing to leave the vehicle as more officers arrived.
Guess who neglected to mention the race of the black man who allegedly shot four white police officers with an illegal gun. Answer: None of the above. Neither did The New York Times, CBS, NBC, or ABC. Nor did the Times, the Post, or the AP post a photo of Hughes.
To their credit, ABC, CBS, and CNN at least published Hughes ‘ mugshot from a previous offense, one of many on his extensive criminal record. The Times ‘ only mention of the word “black” in its coverage of the incident was to describe the color of the SWAT team’s vehicles outside the home where he was hiding.
But I can assure you that this article, at least in terms of his race, will be the last thing you’ll hear about Hughes. Sure, it’s an election year, but even though he allegedly killed four officers, injured an additional four, and did so with an illegally owned gun, it’s not quite what the media are looking for in their next George Floyd. He might have been the media’s next hero if he had n’t run from the police and killed and injured nearly 10 people while doing so with an unlawful firearm.
