Donald Trump was ordered to pay$ 9,000 in contempt of court by New York Judge Juan Merchan for breaking the president’s criminal hush money trial’s gag order on Tuesday. The New York judge warned that “incarceration consequence” might be used for future offenses.

Merchan made the announcement on Tuesday and gave a written purchase, according to CBS News. A joke order prohibiting the former president from accusing testimony, jurors, and other individuals in the calm money transaction case was upheld by the New York determine.

Merchan claimed that Trump “violated the Buy” by posting information on social media about well-known testimony ‘ involvement in this legal case and speaking out about jury’.

According to a report from CBS News, Merchan found that Merchan had violated the gag order by fineing the former chairman$ 1, 000 for each of Trump’s Truth Social and 2024 plan web content. Merchan determined that the former president had violated the gag order in nine different messages, despite lawyers having formerly identified 10 of Trump’s content as possible violations of the joke purchase.

In Tuesday’s written purchase, Merchan wrote that New York law prevented him from imposing a fine exceeding$ 1, 000 per violation of the joke purchase. Merchan warned that the$ 1, 000 cap “unfortunately wo n’t achieve the desired result in those situations where the defendant can afford such a fine.”

Merchan acknowledged that New York law now forbids him from imposing a higher monetary penalty, but that a higher fine might be suitable for defendants who can manage the$ 1, 000 good. As a result, the New York judge said the court “must so consider whether in some instances, prison may be a necessary abuse”.

Addressing Trump’s joke order violations, Merchan added,” Defendant is now warned that the Court did not bear intentional violations of its constitutional orders and that if necessary and appropriate under the circumstances, it may establish an incarceratory punishment”.
