San Diego ( Border Report ) — GoFundMe has begun offering fundraising opportunities in Mexico, the 20th nation that the California-based business has supported.
It states that the recent immigration to Mexico will be a “powerful way to raise money for the people and causes they care about.”
In the past, donations that were started in other nations raised money for Mexican factors and people.
But eventually, says Claudia Curiel, GoFundMe representative in Mexico, individuals south of the border can launch their own funding campaigns, take gifts, and withdraw money in , Mexican , Pesos.
” I’ll give you a recent example, in October when Hurricane Otis hit Acapulco, more than$ 1.5 million were raised to help those affected by the hurricane, so you can imagine how much more we could’ve been able to provide if we had supported Mexico at that time”, Curiel said.
She said there are only four needs to start a charity: You may be 18 years old, and you need a specific target in Mexico, a bank accounts in Mexico, and a national registry tax amount.
Curiel claimed that it’s relatively simple to use the GoFundMe site.
” There’s a draw- down restaurant at the bottom of the page where you can select a language and a nation, but, of course, if you’re in Mexico, it mechanically directs you to the site for Mexico”.
She pointed out that with GoFundMe, it’s easy to make an impact in someone’s life.
” Even if you do n’t have the funds to donate to a cause that you care about, you can always help by sharing a fundraiser,” as we’ve seen about fundraisers that are shared at least six times within the first few hours tend to be much more effective.
The company’s first expansion in nearly six years is the company’s move to Mexico.
