On Wednesday, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass promised to prosecute pro-Israel vigilantes who had overnight attacked the University of California Los Angeles ‘ (UCLA )” Palestine Solidarity Encampment.”
Bass stated in a statement that she wanted the perpetrators of the crime held accountable, noting that both the vigilantes and the pro-Palestine activists had apparently used both weapons, though only the vigilantes were said to have used fireworks.
Mayor Bass said:
This day, I met in person with LAPD, LASD, CHP, CalOES, UCPD and other local agencies at the UCLA event prompt article about the absolutely disgusting assault on campus next night. LAPD is working with local law enforcement to make sure our campus and students are safe next.
What transpired on campus last evening must be the subject of a thorough research. Those involved in launching lights at various persons, spraying pesticides and physically assaulting others will be found, arrested, and prosecuted, as well as anyone involved in any form of violence or chaos.
I want to make sure that the statement I made to law enforcement and other officers earlier today is clear: Completely statement will be protected. Violence and intolerance does not.
Governor Newsom and I have spoken with him and I want to thank him for his ongoing assistance.
Bass did not speak out against the arrests and other forms of violence committed by the camp’s citizens, including an abuse on a journalist and attempts to encroach on the school.
Newsom just made his first comment on the violence at UCLA on Wednesday, having previously remained silent for several days while the pro-Palestinian activists abused journalists and harmed students, faculty, and the general public.
As Breitbart News reported, about 100 pro- Israel vigilantes attacked the walls around the “encampment” — including both the earthen walls erected by the protesters, and the steel walls seemingly added by UCLA.
George Gascón, a attorney in Los Angeles County, is infamously permissive about preventing violent crime. And Mayor Bass is preoccupied with the endless process of clearing outposts— never of activists, but of poor people, whose number is growing.
Upgrade:  , UCLA Chancellor Gene Block is likewise vowing to skill any learners involved, and backing trial:
The violence that occurred last evening, according to UCLA Chancellor Gene Block, has just been addressed in a statement. twitter.com/J2IaMYx5Ci
