Managers apparently cautioned Toni Braxton against making open about her lupus analysis again in 2010.
The singer-songwriter, 56, revealed in a recent interview that her managers instructed her to keep a secret because they worried it may hinder her ability to find employment.
“People get scared about ill stars, ” Braxton said on the latest season of the SHE MD radio, published Tuesday. “And I was n’t find insured. … The minute I was told I had [lupus], I did n’t find operate at first. ”
Nobody wanted to put me on a step, I said. ‘ Well, expect she collapsed on stage, and the plan, how are we going to do that? ’” she added. “So at first I did not labor. ”
The seven-time Grammy success, who disclosed she had lupus during a 2010 prizes ceremony in Los Angeles, said that she saw at least six physicians before receiving a proper diagnosis.
Because everything has to line up, Lupus can be very difficult to diagnose and treat, Braxton said on the women’s wellness radio. No one could determine what was wrong with me. ”
