Among other things: ‘ Displaced Gazans ‘ can experiment on campus, development of ‘ Muslim Cultural Center’ by fall
Final exams at Rutgers University were postponed on Thursday after an “anticipated escalation” of anti-Israel protest activity led to the acceptance of all but one of the protesters ‘ requirements.
According to , The Daily Targum, the increase appeared to be a visit by the school’s Students for Justice in Palestine for an earlier- day “emergency protest”.
In” solidarity with individuals in Gaza” and Rutgers individuals who” can’t feel sanity in the midst of the Israeli-Hamas war,” the statement “provided an email template for students” provided.
In an email sent to campus-wide, Jonathan Holloway gave protesters a 4-pm deadline to clean their camp because that would set off the demolition process.
However, Holloway ultimately conceded eight of the protesters ‘ ten needs, according to independent New York/New Jersey blogger Spyder Monkey on X. These include:
— Rutgers accepting “at least 10 displaced Gazans” to finish their studies at the university.
— Plans to create an” Muslim Social Center” by the fall semester at every Rutgers school.
— Development of a “memorandum of understanding” and “long- word education relationship” with the West Bank’s Birzeit University.
— Use of” Palestine” and” Palestinians” instead of ,” Middle East” or” Gaza region” in all official university communications regarding” Israeli aggressions in Palestine”.
— Coaching for university personnel and the hiring of experts in “anti- Arab, anti- Muslim and pro- Muslim racism”.
— Display of colors on school of” Arab, Kurdish, Kashmiri and other denied lands”.
—” Total amnesty to all university, workers, scholar organizations and students” who took part in the Rutgers anti- Israel camp and protests the previous week.

The Rutgers Joint Committee of Investment will discuss two issues later, with the removal of the Israeli business partnership and the termination of Rutgers ‘ relationship with Tel Aviv University and the HELIX Innovation Hub.
The agreement was reached through a constructive dialogue between the protesting students and our leadership teams, according to Chancellor Francine Conway’s email, and she cited Rutgers ‘” commitment to]its students is paramount.”
In a separate message, Holloway , ( pictured ) expressed his thanks to” all those who worked to bring a peaceful end to the protest”.
He continued,” We still have a lot of work to do,” adding that it will continue to be tested. ” I ask everyone to be civil to one another, to be respectful of one another, and to embrace our shared humanity”.
Ironically, however, the New York Post reports Rutgers disallowed a pro- Jewish group’s Friday barbecue on the same grounds which had been occupied for days by pro- Hamas activists.
Students Supporting Israel’s Kelli Shapiro called the denial an “antisemitic double standard”, while another student wondered why, if Rutgers allowed an anti- Israel encampment for almost four days, “how is it we ca n’t have a two- hour barbecue”?
