NEW DELHI: American MP Brittany Lauga said that she was drugged and sexually assaulted in Yeppoon, northern Queensland, last trip during a day out in her district. The incident was reported to the police on April 28 in the early days of the day.
” My body’s ability to take medications was confirmed by testing at the hospital. This chemical impacted me significantly”, said Lauga in her Instagram article.
” I’ve spoken to a number of women in our community who have had the same experience.” We should n’t have to run the risk of being drugged or assaulted in our town, Lauga continued.
The Yeppoon incident-related investigation is being looked into by the Queensland Police Service.
According to the Australian Broadcasting Company, Queensland Premier Steven Miles stated that the government is willing to support Brittany Lauga in any way.
In subsequent weeks, Australia has seen a surge in high- report gender- based violence.
Six people were fatally stabbed in a Sydney shopping centre in April by an assailant. Among the sufferers, five were people, prompting the New South Wales police inspector to argue that the suspect’s intent to harm people was “obvious”.
